Jason Clack
General Counsel
Jason has over 13 years of experience as an attorney for the State of New Mexico. Before joining DoIT, Jason was the Director of Court Operations for the New Mexico Administrative Office of the Courts. He advised and trained judges across the state and oversaw administrative functions for state and municipal courts. Prior to that, Jason worked as a Public Defender in Carlsbad and Santa Fe.
Jason enjoys working with likeminded individuals who use their talents to serve the people of New Mexico. In an ever increasingly technological world, the services provided by DoIT are becoming more essential by the day. Jason is excited to be part of the team that is constantly improving and streamlining those services, to continually improve state government operations.
Jason grew up in a small town in Texas, close to his family’s ranch, on which he worked as a teen until he went to college at the University of Texas in Austin. After getting his BA in History, Jason went to law school at the American University in Washington DC, where he did a dual degree program in international law, through which he also attended Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. After successful completion of this program, Jason earned his Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degrees.
Growing up, Jason enjoyed visiting his mother’s family in southern New Mexico and spending winter breaks in Santa Fe. His parents retired to Santa Fe, and after finishing law school, he decided to move to New Mexico and has never looked back. Jason enjoys spending time outside with his wife and daughter, and their two horses, donkey, two dogs, five cats, and rabbit. When he’s not outside, Jason enjoys cooking while listening to records, reading, or playing video games.
