Lauren Dodd Thorp
Communications Director
Lauren Dodd Thorp serves as DoIT’s Director of Communications, overseeing agency wide communications efforts, partner relationships, special events, and the Roadrunner Award program. She brings more than a decade of journalism experience and a strong background in public service communications, most recently serving in the Office of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.
Lauren attended Richmond American University London and Rhodes College in Memphis before beginning her career in journalism. A skilled storyteller, she excels at cutting through complexity and helping connect New Mexicans with the work their government does every day.
In her new role, Lauren will lead agency wide communications efforts, manage partner relationships, oversee special events, and direct the Roadrunner Award program. Her focus will be to ensure the contributions of DoIT staff are recognized and clearly communicated.
“I’m honored to join the DoIT team and to continue supporting the Governor’s priorities,” Thorp said. “New Mexicans deserve to know how their government works for them, and I intend to make sure DoIT’s work speaks clearly, honestly, and often.”
When Lauren’s not working to make DoIT a place where everyone wants to be, she enjoys biking, hiking, and spending time with her husband, her elderly parents she cares for, and her three dogs.
