New Mexico Statewide Middle Mile Network RFI
Request for Information
New Mexico Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE) has released a Request for Information (RFI) for a statewide open access middle mile network. The network will help foster universal broadband to all unserved and underserved communities across New Mexico. This can occur by facilitating deployment and upgrade of last mile networks that currently lack affordable, high capacity middle mile facilities.
OBAE welcomes input from key stakeholders such as broadband providers, broadband asset owners, local governments, tribal communities and state agencies. Feedback will help OBAE and potential collaborators – across government and the private sector – develop a comprehensive strategy for network funding, design, deployment and administration. Feedback will also allow last mile providers to express their middle mile needs and interest in connecting to the middle mile network.
Responses are due by 16 May 2022 5pm MDT.
